THE LITTLE-KNOWN, AND OVERLOOKED WORDS OF JESUS

Something unknown and overlooked is a mystery.

an investigator looks at the scene of a crime
the answer to the crime is a mystery at first
but the placement of objects and the indications of activity at the scene reveal the mystery to the well-trained eye
little details of the appearance of the scene are overlooked by most people
and that which was a mystery and unknown becomes known

Jesus Christ gave some words to the disciples that are so often overlooked and almost totally unknown to many people, even people who call themselves Christians, and EVEN PREACHERS!

Let us discover what is so little known by so many

Colossians 1:25-28 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God; Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

Since the beginning, when mankind went into sin with the very first man, throughout the ages, when prophets and kings of Israel were raised up, and mighty conquests in the middle east were made, God had a message He intended for humanity to receive.

he held that message away from the world
it was a "mystery".
Paul said this mystery was hid from ages and generations.
Our generation is meant to receive it

1Pet 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

a mystery is a truth from God which we do not know anything about.
God must "reveal" a mystery to us
When God reveals it to us, we receive a "revelation"
and the one through whom God reveals it to us is said to be one who "prophesies".
it comes out fo the realm of the unknown and from the spiritual into the realm of human understanding when somebody is in the right place for God and it is God's right time to reveal it, and He reveals the word to the preacher and the preacher prophesies to the Church.

Paul said that he was made a minister for the purpose of revealing the Word of God
God gave him a dispensation, or a duty to be a house steward
Paul served in God's house, the Church, and did a work for that house
"to fulfil the word of God"
God reveals truths to true preachers - they are experts in the Word of God
they know how to hear from God and receive revelation
when they speak, an anointing is upon them to speak to the people with Power.
"give full scope to the word of God."

THE CHURCH GENERATION

God makes the mystery, which was hidden to the world for generations, known to the SAINTS.

saints are anybody who is a real christian.
There are 76 generations from Adam to the Jesus, in Luke 3:23-38.
The Church is the 77th generation. -(the number 7 was always special in God's mind.)
the entire church age, since 2,000 years ago, is one generation
you are not a great, great grandson of the first christians, in the family of God
you are a brother
this whole church age is one generation
God has no grandchildren - just children

if your parents were true christians, and children of God, you are not automatically a grandchild of God
you need to become a child of God yourself.

there is one generation for the church.
God gave THIS generation the mystery unknown to all other generations beforehand.
Adam did not know it, Noah did not know it, Abraham did not know it, Moses did not know it, Isaiah did not know it
ONLY JESUS CHRIST had it, and He gave it to us.

Reve 1:1-3 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw. Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

nobody knew it until Jesus came
that means that for 75 generations since Adam, nobody knew something important for mankind, and God did not want anyone to know until after that time.
Paul said this prophecy, or revealed mystery was...

Col. 1:27-28...this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

The Mystery hidden from all time until the church age is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
God intends for every person, since Jesus came to the world, to know this mystery now.
Jesus indicated HIS generation would know the mystery.

Matt 13:15-17 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

This mystery is revealed to the saints of God, but is not even made known to some who call themselves Christians.
There are people today in this church generation, who do not nor will not know this MYSTERY.
it is not a revelation to them, and it will remain a mystery to them.

"REVELATION" uses the root word "VEIL". - "to remove the veil"

1) a laying bear, making naked

2) a disclosure of truth, instruction

a) concerning things before unknown

b) used of events by which things or states or persons hitherto withdrawn from view are made visible to all

3) manifestation, appearance

2Cor 3:14-16 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.

revelation is given to the heart and mind of a person who turns to the Lord in heart and mind
the veil is taken away

Jesus revealed His word after he opened their understanding.

Luke 24:45-49 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

THESE WORDS WERE GIVEN AFTYER JESUS DIED AND RESURRECTED.
HE SAID THESE WORDS 40 DAYS AFTER HE RESURRECTED
so many overlook these few words.
they miss them totally
when they think of how to be saved, they never consider these words.
these are the little-known, overlooked words of Jesus
BUT WE SEE THAT JESUS HAD TO OPEN THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE DISCIPLES BEFORE THEY COULD KNOW THESE WORDS.
He had to give them a revelation
And those whose hearts are not turned in true faith in Jesus will not have the veil removed and will not ever understand the meaning of these words.

Paul said when the heart turns to the Lord, the veil is removed.

and when the disciples received the power from on high, which Jesus referred to, they spoke this message to the people everywhere they went.

Acts 2:38-39 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Jesus told it to the disicples after he opened their understanding
Peter preached it as the very first message of the Church on the day of Pentecost, when the church was born.
Some people have told me that the way to be saved does not include repentance, baptism for remission of sins, and receiving the Holy Ghost.
Receiving the Holy Ghost is having CHRIST IN YOU, THE HOPE OF GLORY.
THE MYSTERY
But Jesus distinctly said it, however most people overlooked it and missed it.
Peter distinctly said EVERY ONE OF YOU, including as many as the Lord shall ever call.
and people still do not believe it
you can even show these people these words of Jesus and Peter, and they will still not believe it.
They do not think you need the Holy Ghost baptism.
why?
Their hearts are not truly turned to God and there is a veil on their hearts, and they cannot understand until their hearts are truly turned to the Lord Jesus.
Can you see this yet?
John said in Rev. 1:1 that God gave Jesus a revelation to give to his servants.
His servants are people whose hearts are turned to the Him
nobody else can receive it.
Paul said this mystery of Christ in you is given to the saints

...the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

Christ in you.
Jesus said repentance and remission of sins is preached in Jesus' name, and God will send the PROMISE to them.
He said, "Ye shall be endued with power from on high." (that is the promise)

Jesus said

Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you

The Holy Ghost is CHRIST IN YOU, the hope of glory
It is the POWER from on high.
it is a mystery to so many.
for thousands of years nobody knew it
and too many do not know it even today.
Jesus told them to preach it to all nations. He said the same thing in Matthew.
given to ALL NATIONS

Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Rom 16:25-6 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

If the preaching someone gives is not according to the revelation of the MYSTERY as found in Luke 24:47-49, it is not actually the preaching of the Gospel.

ROMANS 16 ...made known to all nations
LUKE 24 ...And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations
MATTHEW 24 ...this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world
JOHN SEEN A VISION OF GOD GIVING JESUS THE REVELATION, WHICH JESUS WAS SUPPOSED TO GIVE TO HIS SERVANTS

Reve 5:1-3 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.

THIS BOOK WAS SEALED AND NO MAN COULD LOOK IN IT
THAT MADE IT A MYSTERY

Reve 5:6-7 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.

LATER JESUS GIVES THE BOOK TO JOHN

Reve 10:1-3 And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire: And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth, And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices.

Reve 10:5-7 And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer: But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

SERVANTS HEARD THE MYSTERY
Reve 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants...

Reve 10:10-11 And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter. And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.

PREACH TO ALL NATIONS, JOHN.

THE MYSTERY
THE GOSPEL
BUT THAT MYSTERY IS GOING TO BE FINISHED, GOD SAID.

...But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished

Let us see what happens in the seventh trumpet.

Reve 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

this chance to repent, be baptized for remission of sins and to receive the promise of the Spirit, is going to be finished one day.
It is preached to all nations, and then, Jesus said, the end shall come.
Matthew 24:14 said the same thing as Revelation 10:7

Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

John preached to all nations
When all nations have heard, and all kingdoms have heard, the end shall come and the Kingdoms will be given to the Lord.
John's name means BELOVED.
John called the church the beloved.
When John preached to all nations, we see a representation of the CHURCH preaching the Gospel to all the world.

1Joh 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God,...

John represents the church
after every nation has had a chance to believe and turn their hearts and see the mystery and be saved, the end will come.
some here have hearts not turned to the Lord.
turn now and have your veil removed and be saved.
BEFORE THE MYSTERY IS FINISHED.
