MOSES AND
LAW WAS TEMPORARY.
NECESSARY TO GET THEM TO ABRAHAM’S COVENANT.
When Moses came, they had been in prison for 400 years, and Moses had
to tell them about God!
- They
Lost covenant and knowledge of God.
- So
gave LAWS.
- First
was ONE GOD.
- Change
their minds.
But actually, Jesus came to talk about Abraham not ten commandments.
- Paul
speaks of law and Abraham, and noted Law was only temporary.
Galatians 3:16-19 KJV Now to Abraham and his seed were the
promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one,
And to thy seed, which is Christ. (17) And this I say, that
the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law,
which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it
should make the promise of none effect. (18) For if the
inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to
Abraham by promise. (19) Wherefore then serveth the law? It
was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom
the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a
mediator.
Jesus came
to Line us back up with the government of God so we could claim our
rights, because ten commandments were only means to get them to know
God, and once they knew God they could get back to Abraham’s
covenant.
- So
Jesus went right back to Abraham.
- That
is how the apostles handled the truth as well.
A ruler of a country can pardon any criminal and that person is as
though he never committed crime.
- A
KING PARDONED US!
- Some
criminals were so outrageous that they stirred up public when president
pardoned them!
- Their
histories were wiped clean.
- But
GOD PARDONED US!
Luke 13:10-17 KJV And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on
the sabbath. (11) And, behold, there was a woman which had
a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could
in no wise lift up herself. (12) And when Jesus saw her, he
called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine
infirmity. (13) And he laid his hands on her: and
immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. (14)
And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that
Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There
are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be
healed, and not on the sabbath day. (15) The Lord then
answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the
sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to
watering? (16) And ought not this woman, being a daughter
of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed
from this bond on the sabbath day? (17) And when he had
said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people
rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.
COVENANT of MOSES was an educational covenant.
- Abraham’s
covenant was OF FAITH.
- Jesus
looked at crippled woman and called her a “daughter of
Abraham.”
- He
came to talk government.
- Her
citizenship is IN ORDER!
- Pharisees
thought she’d always be crippled, but THE KING COMES!
- Saw
her passport from Kingdom, so if she is daughter of Abraham, then ought
not she be blessed?
- Those
in Christ have promises of Abraham!
Luke 13:16 KJV And ought not this woman, being a daughter of
Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed
from this bond on the sabbath day?
Galatians 3:26-29 KJV For ye are all the children of God by faith
in Christ Jesus. (27) For as many of you as have been
baptized into Christ have put on Christ. (28) There is
neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither
male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. (29)
And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according
to the promise.
Citizens have a legal right to see the leader of the country and
actually take him to court if he refuses.
- Once
we qualify as a citizen, we can come boldly to the throne.
Hebrews 10:19-23 KJV Having therefore, brethren, boldness to
enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, (20) By a new
and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil,
that is to say, his flesh; (21) And having an high priest
over the house of God; (22) Let us draw near with a true
heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an
evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
(23) Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without
wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
John 16:33 KJV These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye
might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of
good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Man was made to have dominion.
- Fish
made to swim and birds to fly.
- Man
to have dominion.
WHAT WAS JESUS’ COMING FOR?
Matthew 4:17 KJV From that time Jesus began to preach, and to
say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
MISSION STATEMENT.
- Successful
ventures have a clear vision statement.
- This
was Jesus’ MISSION on earth.
- REPENT
is first word and means to change your thinking.
- He
came to change our thinking because he came to bring to the planet the
kingdom of God.
- He
changes our thinking so we can live in that kingdom.
We heard THE WAY to the Kingdom, but not the KINGDOM.
New Birth mentioned once by Jesus, but KINGDOM preached again and again!
- NEW
BIRTH mentioned to one man at night.
- And
yet people preach that far more than kingdom.
- KINGDOM
is like…
- Over
and over again.
- ONE
MESSAGE!
- Yet
most believers know nothing about the Kingdom!
