HOW TO HAVE THE ANOINTING

Isai 10:27 And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

Psal 45:7 Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

God was well pleased with Jesus Christ as indicated at the Lord's water baptism.

Luke 3:22 And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

This descent of the Holy Ghost in the form of a dove was the ANOINTING upon Jesus Christ.
After this occurred, Jesus explained it...

Luke 4:18-19 The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

Jesus was anointed because He loved righteousness and hated wickedness, as Psalm 45:76 explains.
Notice that the Spirit ANOINTED Jesus to HELP PEOPLE.
The Spirit of God wants to help the hurting and the poor of this world.
God is two things... SPIRIT and LOVE
And when one shows compassion for others and reaches out to God, God will ANOINT THAT ONE, since they LOVE RIGHTEOUSNESS.
The Spirit anointed Jesus to preach, but not just preach. To preach to the poor.
The Spirit anointed Jesus to heal, but not just to heal. To heal the broken hearted.
One needs compassion for people in this world before the Spirit will anoint, because He anoints those who love righteousness.
It is righteous to care for people.

Before Jesus attacked the devil and destroyed Satan's "yokes" of bondage, Jesus was "anointed" by the Spirit of God.

Priests were anointed to be priests in the Old Testament.
Kings were anointed to be kings.
Priests were anointed at AGE 30. (Num. 4:3).
Jesus was 30 years old when He was anointed.

Luke 3:23 And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was [the son] of Heli,

He was the TRUE Priest, whom the Old Testament priests merely foreshadowed.

Psal 2:1-3 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, [saying], Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

You cannot defeat the anointed.
And we read of a world that hates the anointed.
Why?
This one is the CHRIST.

Psal 2:7 I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou [art] my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

This verse points directly to Jesus' baptism, where he was ANOINTED.

Psal 20:6 Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.

He saves His anointed.
His STRENGTH is upon the anointed.
(Right hand is power -- hence, "strength of his right hand")
Jesus is the power of God, the right hand of God.
He saves us!
Jesus saves!

When one loves righteousness, one is anointed, and one will be protected by God's power.

"Oil of gladness" anoints us. (Psalm 45:7).
Joy of the Lord is our strength.
God strengthens His anointed.,
It all fits together.

Anointing is empowering.

They used a horn and filled it with oil of anointing to pour from the horn onto people to be anointed.
Horns represent POWER.
Powerful beasts were horned beasts.
It indicates God's POWER of His Spirit.
We receive POWER TO WITNESS when we receive the Anointing of the Holy Ghost.
But we must love righteousness.

HEAVENLY PLACES :

Matt 6:20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

To put our hearts in HEAVEN is to desire the things of the Kingdom of Heaven
We already pointed out that HEAVEN refers to the Holiest of Holies.
And the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of Heaven (same thing) is righteousness , peace and joy in the Holy Ghost! (Ro 14:17)
So to put our treasures in Heaven is to TREASURE RIGHTEOUSNESS, or to LOVE RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Matt 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Our hearts LOVE.
We must LOVE righteousness, so we can be anointed.
Set your GOALS on the things of the Holiest, of Heaven...

1Cor 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these [is] charity.

LOVE RIGHTEOUSNESS
Have compassion for souls.
And God will anoint you.
HOW TO HAVE THE ANOINTING.
God will then strengthen you.
After speaking about the gifts of the Spirit, Paul said...

1Cor 12:31 - 13:3 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way. Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become [as] sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have [the gift of] prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed [the poor], and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

Love righteousness, love people, have charity and you will be anointed with the GIFTS.
If you look at wounded souls who ache and hurt, and want to make a difference due to love for them, you are prime material for God's power, and He will anoint you heavily, since the anointing is for the poor, and the broken hearted.

Jesus "CHRIST"

"Christ" means ANOINTED ONE.
It is righteous to love one another.
It is righteous to have faith and hope.
LOVE RIGHTEOUSNESS and be anointed.

Colo 3:14 And above all these things [put on] charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

1Pet 4:8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

WHY put LOVE first?

Because God wants to anoint and He needs us to love righteousness before He will anoint us.
People need help!

JOSEPH'S COAT OF MANY COLOURS:

Gene 37:3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he [was] the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of [many] colours.

I often wondered what the significance of Joseph's coat of many colours was.
It was a STRIPED coat of varying colours.
COATS/ROBES represent righteousness

Reve 19:8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

While Joseph's brothers had an evil report of carousing and thinking and doing evil, Joseph loved righteousness.
Jesus loved righteousness.
He was scourged and whipped and His back was STRIPED with wounds and cuts because He loved us and wanted there to be healing, not only of broken arms and legs, but of BROKEN HEARTS.
He wore a COAT of stripes.
His compassion for the hurt and lost granted Him anointing.
Loving righteousness and the anointing go together.
A robe of righteousness and anointing go hand in hand because God anoints those who love righteousness.
BY HIS STRIPES WE WERE HEALED!
Oh, what compassion!
He did it because we needed healing.
Every stripe of blood healed hate, bitterness and envy.
His coat of righteousness CAN BE GIVEN TO YOU.

HIS ANOINTING.

Matt 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

His robe.
I can see in the Spirit a group of people walking up to a coat rack of many robes and taking them and putting them on themselves, as people are manifesting a compassion for souls and God is anointing them.
LOVE RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Desire to be like Jesus and help someone.
CRAVE IT.
God will ANOINT YOU!!

2Chr 16:9a For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of [them] whose heart [is] perfect toward him.

God is looking to ANOINT and show Himself STRONG on someone's behalf.
He is looking for those who LOVE RIGHTEOUSNESS.

DAVID:

Psal 89:20-23 I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him: With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen him. The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him. And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him.

God's eyes FOUND David!
He found a boy with the heart of love for righteousness.
As that boy sit in the fields and hills watching his sheep, and a lion and bear took one away, his love for those sheep drove him to help, and God anointed him to kill the beasts.
Sheep turned into people of Israel, as he saw the people scared by the giant Goliath, and his love for his people drove God to anoint him and slay the giant.
The heart of a shepherd's love for the flock made David the ANOINTED KING.
Enemies cannot touch God's anointed.
God will beat down his foes.
If you are anointed, do not worry about the enemy and things that you may need.

Matt 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

What things?

Matt 6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

The anointing breaks the yokes of the enemy.
How to Have the Anointing.
Let us love righteousness and make ourselves available for God to anoint.
Let's repent if we have need to.
