The following scriptures we will read together today, show a similarity in thought of what state the world was in when God intervened and brought it to where Adam was created, and what state Israel was in when God made them His people. And these are the only two parts of the Pentateuch that read of the Hebrew term WITHOUT FORM together with God's Spirit MOVING as a result. Genesis 1:1-3 KJV In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. (2) And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. (3) And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. Deuteronomy 32:9-14 KJV For the LORD'S portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance. (10) He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye. (11) As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings: (12) So the LORD alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him. (13) He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock; (14) Butter of kine, and milk of sheep, with fat of lambs, and rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats, with the fat of kidneys of wheat; and thou didst drink the pure blood of the grape. Deuteronomy 32:15 KJV But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.
Genesis reads the earth was without form.
So we find that When God made Israel His people, or His portion, He found them in a WASTE howling wilderness.
This is describing GENESIS and EXODUS.
And so, because we see the same pattern of God's work in creation to be found in His dealing with Israel in EXODUS, we can see that EXODUS is the sort of GENESIS God performs UPON PEOPLE.
Acts 2:1-4 KJV And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. (2) And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. (3) And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. (4) And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. In fact there is a pillar of fire over each of their heads just as the SPIRIT of God came down in the wilderness to lead Israel and later stand above Israel's tabernacle. The first time we read of the pillar was here, after Israel already came out of Egypt. Exodus 13:21-22 KJV And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night: (22) He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people. Speaking of the Holy Ghost baptism like the pillar of fire that came to Israel, we read; John 1:29-33 KJV The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. (30) This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me. (31) And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water. (32) And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. (33) And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. Matthew 3:16 KJV And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: In fact, John 1 shows IN THE BEGINNING, LIGHT and a series of Days, just like Genesis 1. We see the same thing found in Genesis as we study NEW BIRTH. Genesis 1:2 KJV And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. John 3:5 KJV Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Water, Spirit, and a kingdom.
And after God's Spirit moved upon the earth, He proceeded to CONFORM THE EARTH until He finished with ADAM IN HIS IMAGE.
Israel's Exodus would likewise conclude, for the process of Genesis was a JOURNEY OF PEOPLE in Exodus.
It's like the BROODING of God's Spirit on the waters winds up with God's Spirit BEING THE RIVERS OF LIFE for all the world to drink.

John 7:37-39 KJV In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. (38) He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (39) (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) Revelation 22:17 KJV And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. Look at how the DESTINATION OF THE EXODUS IS COMPARED WITH OUR DESTINATION in Hebrews: Hebrews 3:6-14 KJV But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. (7) Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, (8) Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: (9) When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. (10) Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. (11) So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.) (12) Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. (13) But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. (14) For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; The journey was not completed by many Hebrews because of unbelief.
And then he says something powerful.
(14) For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; What is partaking of Christ? We know that Christ died on the cross so we can get baptized into that death.
Romans 6:4 KJV Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Romans 6:5 KJV For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Romans 6:6-7 KJV Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. (7) For he that is dead is freed from sin. Partaking of Christ is to experience the same experiences He did!
After we read we are freed from sin, we then read: Romans 6:12 KJV Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. DO NOT LET SIN RULE YOU!
Romans 6:14 KJV For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. But the problem is THAT PEOPLE ARE LETTING SIN RULE IN THEIR FLESH AND DO NOT EVEN KNOW THEY DO NOT HAVE TO LET IT RULE. Why do people backslide?
Why do people struggle in living for Jesus?
DO NOT LET SIN RULE IN YOUR FLESH. Back up a bit into Romans 5. Romans 5:20 KJV Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: Paul said where sin abounded, grace did much more abound.
But Paul knew people were so uneducated as to how to rule over sin, he predicted a question people might give in response to hearing grace abounds where sin is. Romans 6:1 KJV What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? Think about it.
Romans 6:2 KJV God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? WE ARE DEAD TO SIN, PAUL????? YES!!! Hallelujah! And then Paul explains their deaths with Christ occurred at baptism. FOLKS, we have far more victory over sin than to see God step in out of mercy for us and show his grace everytime sin messes mankind up!
We were in BONDAGE, like Israel was in BONDAGE.
Hebrews 2:14-15 KJV Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; (15) And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. FEAR OF DEATH, made them SUBJECT TO BONDAGE!!! Romans 8:8-15 KJV So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. (9) But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. (10) And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. (11) But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. (12) Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. (13) For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. (14) For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. (15) For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. Whether you know it or not, YOUR BODY IS CONSIDERED TO HAVE DIED AND YOU ARE JUST AS GOOD AS DEAD regarding sin.
But you are ALIVE in a power driven glory of God when you have the SPIRIT OF GOD IN YOU.
And instead of SIN RULING YOUR MORTAL BODIES, THE SPIRIT CAN QUICKEN YOUR MORTAL BODIES. COMPARE: 8 (11) But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Romans 6:12 KJV Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. And SOME PEOPLE ARE STILL IN EGYPTIAN-TYPE BONDAGE!!! Rom 8 (15) For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. They gave the emancipation declaration in Lincoln's day to free slaves.
