THE KINGDOM RELATIONSHIP TO PASSOVER

Passover in 2011 started on Tuesday, the 19th of April and continues for 7 days until Monday, the 25th of April.

Joshua 4:19 KJV And the people came up out of Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and encamped in Gilgal, in the east border of Jericho.

About 40 YEARS BEFORE…

Exodus 12:1-3 KJV And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, (2) This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you. (3) Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:

Exodus 12:6-7 KJV And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening. (7) And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.

Exodus 12:23 KJV For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.

Joshua 4:5-7 KJV And Joshua said unto them, Pass over before the ark of the LORD your God into the midst of Jordan, and take ye up every man of you a stone upon his shoulder, according unto the number of the tribes of the children of Israel: (6) That this may be a sign among you, that when your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean ye by these stones? (7) Then ye shall answer them, That the waters of Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD; when it passed over Jordan, the waters of Jordan were cut off: and these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel for ever.

Joshua 4:10-13 KJV For the priests which bare the ark stood in the midst of Jordan, until every thing was finished that the LORD commanded Joshua to speak unto the people, according to all that Moses commanded Joshua: and the people hasted and passed over. (11) And it came to pass, when all the people were clean passed over, that the ark of the LORD passed over, and the priests, in the presence of the people. (12) And the children of Reuben, and the children of Gad, and half the tribe of Manasseh, passed over armed before the children of Israel, as Moses spake unto them: (13) About forty thousand prepared for war passed over before the LORD unto battle, to the plains of Jericho.

The very same day Israel took a PASSOVER LAMB 40 years earlier in Egypt was the day Israel PASSED OVER THE JORDAN RIVER. (Joshua 4:19)

The lamb was TAKEN or CHOSEN on that day, to be slain four days later so its blood could be applied to the DOORWAYS.

God would LOOK FOR THAT BLOOD.
When He saw the blood HE WOULD PASS OVER THE DOOR and not allow the Destroyer to come into the house.

And we read that forty years later the people PASSED OVER THE JORDAN the same day that lamb was CHOSEN.

There is a message about a special group of CHOSEN BELIEVERS who come to a place in God where they enter into something that the Land of Canaan, the promised land, foreshadows.

Like the LAMBS CHOSEN THAT DAY, these people are a special CHOSEN PEOPLE.
Not just any Israelite fell into that category.
39 years earlier the same nation came to the borders of the promised land and FEARED.
They searched the land and feared the giants and the walled cities.
So God in anger demanded they wander in the wilderness until that generation died, so the younger would instead go in.

Joshua 4 marked the time the elders died.

The younger were going in.

Canaan represents A KINGDOM land.

Israel would rule their own land after being slaves for 430 years!
Back in the territory God gave to ABRAHAM.

We are celebrating the TRUE PASSOVER this weekend.

That lamb they took in Egypt represented JESUS CHRIST, THE LAMB OF GOD WHO TAKETH AWAY THE SINS OF THE WORLD.

1 Corinthians 5:7 KJV Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

What is interesting is that just as the LAMB was the PASSOVER LAMB on the tenth day of the first month, the PEOPLE passed over that same day when they entered Canaan.

This shows a connection of the PEOPLE TO THE LAMB.
This connection was not a new thing.
Way back when they took that lamb, its death occurred so that it would count as the deaths of the firstborn in each home, so the destroyer could not take that soul.
God passed over their doors and disallowed the destroyer to enter.
YOU CANNOT ENTER TO TAKE ANY SOUL HERE, FOR THE DEATH OF THIS LAMB ALREADY OCCURRED AND STANDS FOR THE DEATH OF THE SOUL YOU HAVE COME TO TAKE.

So the lamb was identified as the soul that would otherwise be killed that night.

And when we see the people pass over Jordan, there is a connection made again when we notice how it is said THEY PASSED OVER, and it happened that same day.

There is a wonderful message here.

When we are first saved from sin, we thank God for the truth that Jesus is the Lamb whose death occurred in our places.
But after you grow in the Lord for a few years, you learn the teachings of the New Testament.
And you begin to understand that we are taught that there is a place of KINGDOM faith we come into.
Paul repeatedly asked the Romans in Rom 6 if they did not KNOW that when they first got saved THEY WERE IMMERSED INTO JESUS’ DEATH.
HIS DEATH COUNTED AS THEIR DEATHS.
And the reason he asked them this is because he made a statement that not many Christians have yet grasped to this day:

Romans 6:1-3 KJV What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? (2) God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? (3) Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

Just like these Romans had not grasped the fact THEY DIED WITH JESUS, we think that only ONE PERSON DIED ON THE CROSS, named Jesus Christ.

But because Jesus DIED in our places, in actuality as far as God is concerned, WE ALSO DIED THAT DAY!
And Paul said that means WE DIED TO SIN, so why continue in sin?

When so many believers continue to sin here and there, and struggle, Paul would say to us, DO YOU NOT KNOW you died to sin and sin shall not have dominion over you?

And these sins that we are so afraid of, that we fear thinking they have more power than we do…

Are realized to be things over which we DIED!
When you died to something, it has no more power over you!
And God is showing people all over the land in these days that while for generations people were AFRAID OF THESE GIANTS OF SIN, and these WALLS we seemingly could not break through, …
THERE IS AN IDENTIFICATION WITH CHRIST’S DEATH JUST LIKE THE PEOPLE WERE CONNECTED TO THE PASSOVER LAMB’S DEATH.
And as Israel FEARED the giants and could not enter the land, THIS GENERATION IS GRASPING OUR UNION TO CHRIST’S DEATH!
And we realize our union to Jesus so much that we get the revelation that WE ARE PASSOVERS WITH CHRIST!
And we PASSOVER the BARRIER into the Kingdom land that another generation could not pass over due to fear.
Because those who grasp the revelation that we DIED WITH JESUS, realize THEY HAVE POWER OVER THESE ENEMIES AS JESUS HAS POWER.
And THEY NO LONGER FEAR!

JORDAN is the river where Jesus was baptized before he entered his ministry.

Jordan was the river where Elijah crossed before God took him away to glory in a chariot.
Jordan was where Israel crossed into their own KINGDOM LAND of Canaan.
JORDAN MEANS “DESCENDER.”
It’s as though passing through Jordan is IDENTIFYING YOURSELF WITH JESUS WHEN HE DESCENDED INTO HIS DEATH.
It’s like you finally get the idea that YOU DIED WITH JESUS.
And it hits you that your death with Jesus means you also RESURRECTED WITH HIM.
And the power Jesus had in His resurrection is all over you since you are in union with Him.
AND YOUR FEAR IS GONE.
The fear that held another generation back is GONE!

This is not just hearing me say this to you and you getting some interesting thoughts in your brain after.

It is ACTUALLY having this truth IMPACT you in a REVELATION experience.
And when you grasp THAT revelation and when fear goes as a result, YOU HAVE JOINED THOSE WHO PASSED OVER.

Israel passed over into KINGDOM TERRITORY.

Joshua 5:1 KJV And it came to pass, when all the kings of the Amorites, which were on the side of Jordan westward, and all the kings of the Canaanites, which were by the sea, heard that the LORD had dried up the waters of Jordan from before the children of Israel, until we were passed over, that their heart melted, neither was there spirit in them any more, because of the children of Israel.

THE ENEMY BECAME AFRAID OF THE PEOPLE.

Not just afraid of God.
BUT OF THE PEOPLE OF GOD!

This Easter, or rather… PASSOVER… LET US APPLY THIS KINGDOM TRUTH.

Get the revelation YOU DIED WITH JESUS.
You descended with Him.
HE IS THE DESCENDER!
You joined Him in that death so your soul could be saved.

AS GOD PASSED OVER THE DOOR IN EGYPT, ISRAEL PASSED OVER THE DOOR INTO THE LAND OF CANAAN CALLED THE JORDAN RIVER!
