16:13-21 KJV When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea
Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the
Son of man am? (14) And they said, Some say that
thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of
the prophets. (15) He saith unto them, But whom say
ye that I am? (16) And Simon Peter answered and
said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
(17) And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou,
Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but
my Father which is in heaven. (18) And I say also
unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my
church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
(19) And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of
heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in
heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in
heaven. (20) Then charged he his disciples that
they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.
(21) From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his
disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things
of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be
raised again the third day.
This message is developed from previous revelations and insights the Lord gave us regarding the Rock, and delves further into the issue involving more KINGDOM understanding. The idea of a dual revelation is proposed here by Jesus.
And what Jesus began to say were words about His death and the cross. Peter misses the second revelation. Mat 16:22-25 KJV Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. (23) But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men. (24) Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. (25) For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. And speaking of a ROCK, and BUILDING on the rock, a week later we read... Mat 17:1-5 KJV And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, (2) And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. (3) And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him. (4) Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. (5) While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. MOUNTAINS speak of KINGDOMS in the bible. Isa 2:2-3 KJV And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. (3) And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. This Kingdom is above all other kingdoms!
Hebrews 12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, Jesus DID want to build a tabernacle, house on the mountain, but not a natural one like Peter thought.
This KINGDOM where the HOUSE OF THE LORD is will be GREATER THAN ALL OTHER KINGDOMS. This is the Mount of Transfiguration.
It’s not only Jesus who is intended to be TRANSFIGURED WE ARE CHANGED INTO HIS IMAGE. The SAME SCENARIO as in Matthew 16 is repeated here with every point.
And Jesus AGAIN spoke of the cross. Mat 17:9 KJV And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead. It was not enough for people to know who Jesus is.
The greatest victory this earth has ever witnessed was when Christ resurrected from the grave and CONQUERED DEATH.
Jesus is the Rock.
But Peter missed this concept.
Peter missed it. Too many people miss it. And they remain outside the KINGDOM dominion.
Paul spoke to believers: Rom 12:1-3 KJV I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. (2) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (3) For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. TRANSFORMED is same Greek word as TRANSFIGURED in Matt 17.
MOUNTAINS speak of KINGDOMS.
Dan 2:44 KJV And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. DEATH IS A KINGDOM. 1Co 15:54 KJV So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. AND DEATH IS "SWALLOWED" UP IN VICTORY.
TRUE KINGDOM EXPERIENCE goes beyond you just knowing who Jesus is.
2Ti 2:18-19 KJV Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some. (19) Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. If resurrection is past then there is no victory over death.
We come into AUTHORITY WHERE JESUS GIVES THE KEYS OF THE KINGDOM TO US.
Until what you bind on earth is bound in heaven! And Jesus face shone like the Sun as Moses and Elijah appeared beside Him, when the Father told Peter to HEAR HIM.
THIS KINGDOM CHANGES YOU!
This mountain of transfiguration is not just for Christ to be transfigured.
But Christ's revelation that brings about this change is the TRUTH OF THE WORK OF THE CROSS.
Luk 9:30-31 KJV And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias: (31) Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem. Jesus was speaking already of HIS DECEASE.
Heb 10:11-13 KJV And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: (12) But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; (13) From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. 1Co 15:25-26 KJV For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. (26) The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. Christ sits on the throne above all powers UNTIL THE LAST ENEMY IS PUT UNDER HIS FEET.
Jesus shining like the sun, Moses and Elijah. Mal 4:1-6 KJV For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. (2) But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. (3) And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts. (4) Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments. (5) Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: (6) And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse. All three are mentioned and in each case they are mentioned in ways in which a MOUNTAIN was associated with them.
KINGDOM. Jesus is the SUN of righteousness with healing in his wings.
Verse 4 mentions MOSES' LAW and names the MOUNTAIN Moses gave law from.
1Ki 18:37-38 KJV Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again. (38) Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. THE KINGDOM POWER.
JOHN THE BAPTIST came in spirit of ELIJAH and preached REPENTANCE… TURN.
Elijah represents SPIRIT of God working to HEAL YOU BACK TO THE IMAGE OF GOD.
Mal 4: (2) But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. (3) And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts. OUR ENEMIES will come beneath OUR FEET.
Jesus is SHINING ON US NOW.... receive this revelation and COME INTO HIS IMAGE.
Eph 1:18-20 KJV The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, (19) And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, (20) Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Eph 2:5-6 KJV Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) (6) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: But it has a cost. When Peter was rebuked for rejecting the words of the cross, Jesus said words which are NECESSARILY PART OF HIS REVELATION.
You will not come into HIS IMAGE if you HOLD ONTO SELF -- YOUR IMAGE. When we worship ourselves and vaunt ourselves... we're like the most subtle BEAST of the field, the serpent who successfully got Adam out of KINGDOM POWER by getting them to desire to make self wise as gods.
Forehead represents WILL. Not SELF WILL.... We read about KINGDOM, MOUNTAIN and CHURCH... Mat 7:21-24 KJV Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. (22) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? (23) And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (24) Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: Notice these people who did miracles all knew Jesus was LORD.
If all you get is the first revelation, you know Jesus is Lord, but you fail to come into His image, so that you enjoy the power He has like a house enjoys the stability of the ROCK with which it is come into union.
Mat 7:25 KJV And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. FELL NOT. TWO REVELATIONS. 2Pe 1:1-2 KJV Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: (2) Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, They're one God, but there are two revelations.
2Pe 1:3-4 KJV According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: (4) Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. PARTAKES OF HIS DIVINE NATURE.
Peter told us to ADD TO OUR FAITH SEVEN THINGS -- perfect holiness.
2Pe 1:10 KJV Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: The HOUSE IS OUR CALLING AND ELECTION.
And just as the house on the Rock that will not fall in Matthew 7 mentioned not every one who says “LORD, LORD” goes into the Kingdom, we then read in Peter. 2Pe 1:11 KJV For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. ENTRANCE INTO THE KINGDOM is associated with MAKING YOUR CALLING SURE just like entering into the kingdom is associated with a house on the rock that cannot fall. We have just seen 2 Pet 1 connect the house on the rock in Matt 7 with the church on the rock in Matt 16 and 17. 2Pe 1:12 KJV Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth. ESTABLISHED in the present truth,. Jesus was speaking about getting the church on the rock because He was going to die and resurrect again and leave the church in this world to contend with all the wicked kingdoms of the world and conquer them.
2Pe 1:16-19 KJV For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. (17) For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. (18) And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. (19) We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: Peter refers to Mount of Transfiguration, and mentions the first revelation of the Father.
And it is LIKE THE LIGHT SHINING IN A DARK PLACE UNTIL THE LIGHT ARISES IN OUR HEARTS AND SHINES AS WELL!
2Co 3:12-18 KJV Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech: (13) And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: (14) But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. (15) But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. (16) Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. (17) Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. (18) But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. CHANGED INTO THE SAME IMAGE. CHANGED is same Greek word as TRANSFIGURED and TRANSFORMED. METAMORPHOO --METAMORPHOSIS.
TURN heart and veil is removed..
The tabernacle furniture, from a bird's eye view, is in the shape of the cross. The feet are at the brazen altar where the PREPARATION of the GOSPEL is made. In this kingdom we FIGHT! Eph 1 and 2 shows we are seated together with Christ in heavenly places. Chapter 6 gets into the WARFARE of the KINGDOM.
Eph 6:10-11 KJV Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. (11) Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. POWER OF HIS MIGHT.
Armour of God.
BECOME IMAGES OF GOD. Eph 6:14-17 KJV Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; (15) And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; (16) Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. (17) And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Isa 59:16-19 KJV And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him. (17) For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke. (18) According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence. (19) So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him. Notice that THIS IS INDEED GOD'S OWN ARMOUR.
When the CROSS is superimposed over the tabernacle furniture, the ARK is where HEAD of Jesus was.
Jesus crucified on PLACE OF SKULL.
The Old Testament times saw the FACE VEILED.
You need to get a REVELATION in the place of your skull, your head, that HIS DEATH IS YOUR DEATH.
2Co 4:6 KJV For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. When you get this second revelation... 2Co 4:8-9 KJV We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; (9) Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; YOUR HOUSE WILL NOT FALL. Gen 22:1-4 KJV And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am. (2) And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. (3) And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him. (4) Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off. Lifted up his eyes...
Gen 22:8-18 KJV And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together. (9) And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood. (10) And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. (11) And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. (12) And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me. (13) And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son. A SECOND REVELATION.
(14) And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen. (15) And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time, (16) And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: (17) That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; (18) And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. MULTIPYING COMES HERE.
If God provides VICTORY OVER DEATH, HE CAN PROVIDE ANYTHING! THAT WAS MOUNT MORIAH. A WISE MAN BUILT A HOUSE ON THIS ROCK... SOLOMON BUILT TEMPLE ON THIS MOUNT. AND A GOLDEN AGE OF THE KINGDOM OCCURRED FOR HIS REIGN. NO ENEMIES. Represents the CHURCH AGE. Up to AD70 it was like DAVID’S TABERNACLE.
Let us STAND on the Rock in THIS KINGDOM.
ADAM WAS IN THE IMAGE OF GOD WHEN HAD DOMINION.
