The ark of the covenant was a
depiction of God's throne on the earth.
- Cherubims
covered the seat with their wings.
Isa 6:1-2 KJV In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord
sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled
the temple. (2) Above it stood
the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his
face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.
Isaiah saw the throne in a vision with the seraphims with wings over
the throne of God.
And the mercyseat of the ark, particularly depicting the throne chair,
was sprinkled with Blood.
- It was one the
east face of the ark that faced the people outside towards the east.
- Mercy could
only be given through justice of sins being sacrificed for.
The presence of God in the world amongst the people awarded them
blessings and protection from enemies.
- But a price
was required for His presence.
- Like a king
who demands taxes, a tribute was required of the people for the temple.
- As much as
kings received taxes for work they offered, so does God's presence
require the tribute.
Every time they counted the people this tax was taken.
- Like a
reminder to realize that regardless of how many people there are,
maintain the understanding God's presence is required.
Likewise, we were required to provide payment of the blood for God's
power upon our lives.
The blood had to be sprinkled on the mercyseat in order for God to
atone for their sins and bless them.
- Sin separates
us from God.
Isa 59:1-2 KJV Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it
cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
(2) But your iniquities have separated between you and your God,
and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
So Israel had the throne of God in their midst so long as they
sacrificed and allowed for justice to be served for their sins.
Requirements have to be made to be able to have God's blessing in
their midst.
WHERE
GOD IS ABLE TO RULE, THERE ARE BLESSINGS AND HEALINGS AND MIRACLES.
And our hearts are also said to
be sprinkled with blood.
Heb 10:22 KJV Let us draw near with a true heart in full
assurance of faith, having our
hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed
with pure water.
As though
our hearts become ARKS OF COVENANT.
- And we see a
picture of our hearts becoming SUITABLE TO BE GOD'S THRONE!
As the ark had a mercyseat, which acted like a throne of God in this
earth, our hearts are made like thrones for God in our lives.
- He can bless
us if His throne is in our hearts.
- He cannot
bless where He is not Lord and King.
The ark of the covenant was allowed to be taken from Israel when the
priests and high priest were ungodly men, and God was not satisfied
with their lives in the days of Eli and his sons Hophni and Phinehas.
But in order for Him to be King amongst Israel the blood had to be
sprinkled to remove Israel's sins.
- Likewise, in
our hearts there must be a purging.
- Our very
consciences must be purged by the blood of Jesus.
- Remove the
very conscience of sins.
Christ rules on the throne.
- Rev 22 shows
the throne of God and the Lamb.
- Father and Son.
- And from that
throne flows a river of Life.
We even read the reason there is no more curse is because the throne of
God is there.
Rev 22:3 KJV And there shall be
no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it;
and his servants shall serve him:
His influence of dominion removes the curse.
We require boldness to come before God.
Heb 10:19 KJV Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into
the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
It is as
though our HEARTS MUST ENTER THE HOLIEST IN ORDER TO BE HIS THRONE.
2Ch 5:7 KJV And the priests brought in the
ark of the covenant of the LORD unto his place, to the oracle of
the house, into
the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubims:
2Ch 5:10 KJV There was nothing in the ark save the two tables
which Moses put therein at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with
the children of Israel, when they came out of Egypt.
2Ch 5:13-14 KJV It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and
singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and
thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the
trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the LORD,
saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was
filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD;
(14) So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of
the cloud: for the glory of the
LORD had filled the house of God.
Nothing was in the ark but the law of God.
- But this
depicts how the HEART of man must be brought into the most holy place
and there sprinkled, and contain the law of God, for the presence of
God to dwell amongst us.
- NOTHING ELSE
CAN BE IN OUR HEARTS BUT GOD'S LAWS AND WAYS.
- Too many
believers contain OTHER things in their hearts that should not be there.
- They have
God's law, but they also have OTHER THINGS that desire the world and
certain sins.
- Sin has
pleasure for a season.
- But we must
clear out everything that is not of God and leave nothing but the law
of God within.
- Otherwise, He
cannot rule from our hearts.
The same
chapter in Hebrews 10 that noted our hearts must be sprinkled also
noted God's law must be written in our hearts.
- Just like the
ark of the covenant.
- It was a
container of God's Law, and was sprinkled with blood.
As the ark was brought into the holiest for God to sit on, our hearts
must be presented to God.
And our hearts must contain God's Law.
2Co 3:3 KJV Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the
epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the
Spirit of the living God; not in tables
of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.
Jer 31:33 KJV But this shall be the covenant that I will make
with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my
law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be
their God, and they shall be my people.
Heb 8:10 KJV For this is the covenant that I will make with the
house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my
laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will
be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
Our hearts can only be thrones for God when they are in a certain
condition.
- We have to
understand how His Spirit works, and how to allow Him to operate and
rule.
- Wherever He
rules, there are many blessings and wonders accomplished.
Since this is a LAW that is within our hearts, we realize the thought
of living a certain law or manner of life that is conducive to allowing
God to work.
- Many people
want the blessings of God but they are totally unaware of how their
hearts must believe and how they must live.
- People want to
serve God, but they struggle so much.
- They struggle
in not knowing how to see victory in their lives, and how to please God.
- They try and
fail and always see things go wrong.
- They need to
learn the law of the Spirit.
Sprinkling the heart to purge our consciences is so necessary.
Heb 10:2 KJV For then would they not have ceased to be offered?
because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more
conscience of sins.
Some people have had their sins washed but their consciences are not
purged.
- They
constantly feel they are not good enough.
- They can do
nothing for God in boldness.
- So they need
to be taught about the blood.
- This is how
their hearts are sprinkled with blood.
Heb 10:3-4 KJV But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance
again made of sins every year. (4) For it is not possible
that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
They act as though they are under this old testament time where
sacrifices could not purge sins.
- That would
make you timid before God.
- But they act
timid before God now.
- They do not
understand how much the blood did for them.
Heb 10:16-19 KJV This is the covenant that I will make with them
after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts,
and in their minds will I write them; (17) And their sins and
iniquities will I remember no more. (18) Now where
remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
(19) Having
therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the
blood of Jesus,
So once you LEARN that his blood totally eradicates your sins and
iniquities, then you lose your timid spirit and fear, and you are given
so much confidence that you BOLDLY go before God to give Him your heart
to rule upon.
So God is not able to rule unless you have this sort of confidence.
THE HEART MUST EXPERIENCE TWO THINGS.
- IT MUST BE
SPRINKLED WITH BLOOD, which represents realizing he purged away your
sins so you lose all fear.
- IT MUST
CONTAIN GOD'S LAW, which represents you UNDERSTAND how God works and
how your life must carry on in order for Him to rule from your heart.
Self rules the hearts of too many believers.
- Many have
relegated themselves to believing they never can properly live for God
so they never act faithfully before God for Him to rule in their hearts.
- They simply
believe they will never be blessed.
- BUT THEY CAN!
- They
complicated this until they think barely anyone really serves God like
this.
- Oh they are so
fooled.
The Spirit requires certain things in our lives in order to work in us.
- Most never
learn these requirements and never learn to live by them.
- They simply
only know about getting saved and no more.
- But God has so
much to do through our lives right now in this earth.
Mat 6:9-10 KJV After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father
which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. (10) Thy kingdom come.
Thy
will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
We are to pray for God's will o be done in earth as it is in heaven.
- In other
words, have His throne on earth as His throne is in Heaven.
- His Kingdom is
where He rules!
- And His throne
is in the hearts of His people so it can be in this earth.
Our hearts must be engraved with His law.
- We must have
our natures rewritten.
People who never learn God's law simply live the way they do without
studying His Word and learning from preaching.
- And everyone
of them will invariably make the error of simply trying THEIR best to
serve God, and fail, as Paul did in Romans 7.
- And Paul
learned that there is a law of the Spirit that we must understand.
- It makes us
understand how God works with people.
- What we must
do to see God work.
- We must pray
for God to actually inspire us with power.
- We must never
try anything for God without asking Him to give us wisdom and direction
as to how to do it.
Paul actually said that all the while he tried his fleshly best to
serve God, he was being carnally minded and did not at all understand
the ways the Spirit works.
Rom 8:9-13 KJV But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if
so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the
Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. (10) And if Christ be
in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because
of righteousness. (11) But if the Spirit of him that raised
up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the
dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth
in you. (12) Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to
the flesh, to live after the flesh. (13) For if ye live
after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify
the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
Above he said that we are not in the flesh, but we act like we are when
we think the only way that people without the Spirit are able to think.
- We are not in
the flesh, but we lower ourselves to that level when we live AFTER the
flesh.
- Living after
the flesh is living as though there is no Spirit of God that can
empower you when you ask Him to empower you so that you can do His will.
- It is like
living as though there is No Spirit of God in you to live through you.
As believers who want to go past just going to church and being saved,
you need to make it your goal to learn what it is to walk after the
Spirit.
- Make it your
goal to comprehend and understand how the Spirit successfully works
through people and successfully rules their lives.
- Learn how to
submit to the Spirit of God.
Exo 25:19-20 KJV And make one cherub on the one end, and the
other cherub on the other end: even of the mercy seat shall ye make the
cherubims on the two ends thereof. (20) And the cherubims
shall stretch forth their wings on high, covering the mercy seat with
their wings, and their faces shall look one to another; toward the
mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubims be.
The same solid piece of gold that formed the mercyseat was what the
cherubims were made from.
- They were
attached to the mercyseat.
- They were part
of the mercyseat.
If the mercyseat is the HEART, that is sprinkled and contains
underneath it the law, then the cherubims being part of it represents
part of the heart.
Notice the faces of the cherubims look towards the mercyseat where the
blood is sprinkled.
- What could
this represent in your heart?
Eyes represent UNDERSTANDING in the bible.
- Not only did
the cherubims have eyes all over themselves, but their faces' eyes
looked at the mercyseat.
This shows another requirement for the heart to be Gods throne.
- YOUR HEART
MUST UNDERSTAND WHAT HAPPENED TO IT WHEN IT WAS SPRINKLED WITH BLOOD.
- Understand
what sprinkling of the blood means!
It means you are never to worry over being inadequate for God.
- You never have
to worry about your past problems and sins.
- The blood
remits your sins and iniquities and you never have need of another
sacrifice ever again for anything!
When we understand THIS, and our hearts contain the ways of God and
have boldness, GOD CAN RULE FROM OUR HEARTS.
2Ch 5:9 KJV And they drew out the staves of the ark, that the
ends of the staves were seen from the ark before the oracle; but they
were not seen without. And there it is unto this day.
When they put the ark into the holiest place of the temple, they drew
out the staves, or carrying rods, from it.
- This meant it
would not be moved around any more.
- It was there
to stay.
- No more
packing things up and moving to a spot closer to the promised land.
- No more mobile
Ark.
When our
hearts are where they should be, we will not be moved about with every
wind.
Jam 1:6-7 KJV But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he
that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and
tossed. (7) For let not that man think that he shall
receive any thing of the Lord.
Jam 1:8 KJV A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
Some people live for God this week and next week they forgot all their
promises.
- Double minded.
- Such people
will get nothing from the Lord.
- They are
unstable, and unfaithful.
- God is not
allowed to rule in their hearts.
- They cannot
commit to any church or any congregation.
- They do not
want to be depended upon.
- They will
never be blessed.
Bring your heart into the holiest of all, and pull out the staves so it
STAYS THERE!
- Understand
God's will and make a commitment to stay committed.
