SIN LESS Part 13

Esther 5:1-6 Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on
her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king's house,
over against the king's house: and the king sat upon his royal throne
in the royal house, over against the gate of the house. (2) And it was
so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she
obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the
golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched
the top of the sceptre. (3) Then said the king unto her, What wilt
thou, queen Esther? and what is thy request? it shall be even given
thee to the half of the kingdom. (4) And Esther answered, If it seem
good unto the king, let the king and Haman come this day unto the
banquet that I have prepared for him. (5) Then the king said, Cause
Haman to make haste, that he may do as Esther hath said. So the king
and Haman came to the banquet that Esther had prepared. (6) And the
king said unto Esther at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition? and
it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? even to the half of
the kingdom it shall be performed.
Esther has passed the stage of hesitating due to feeling not good enough.
- She went through the 3 days and nights that represent really
learning what the Lord did to us by the death, burial and resurrection
of Jesus.
- She put on the royal garments like the queen she was.
- And she entered the picture of the MOST HOLY PLACE.
- To get her petition.
1 John 5:14-15 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if
we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: (15) And if we
know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the
petitions that we desired of him.
She invited Haman and the King to the Banquet of wine.
Wine speaks of the blood of Jesus.
Matthew 26:27-29 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to
them, saying, Drink ye all of it; (28) For this is my blood of the new
testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. (29) But I
say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine,
until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.
She would drink the wine with the KING in the KINGDOM.
After 3 days and nights that speak of learning what the cross did to us
until we get the faith to believe it and actually enter the holiest,
knowing only those without sin can do that – we feast on the WINE
of the truths of HIS BLOOD.
We feast on the truths of what his shed blood did for us, and we are
being built up to destroy the enemy fighting against our lives, just as
we were built up to enter the holiest by the three days and nights that
stand for learning the truths of the cross.
Haman is there, too.
- But the queen does not give her request yet. Asks for one more day to feast on wine and she will give her request.
This was OF GOD.
- All these seemingly innocent coincidences were of the Lord doing something behind the scenes and setting things up.
Haman goes home and on the way he sees Mordecai who once again refuses to bow.
- He explains it to his wife and friends.
Esther 5:14 Then said Zeresh his wife and all his friends unto him, Let
a gallows be made of fifty cubits high, and to morrow speak thou unto
the king that Mordecai may be hanged thereon: then go thou in merrily
with the king unto the banquet. And the thing pleased Haman; and he
caused the gallows to be made.
Meanwhile, recall that Mordecai saved the king’s life and it was chronicled and nothing was done.
- The king cannot sleep.
- He’s thrilled with Esther.
- He gets up reads chronicles for something to do, and comes across the Mordecai incident.
- He asks and learns Mordecai was not rewarded.
Just then, Haman was in the palace wanting to talk to the king about hanging Mordecai.
- So the king thinks of Haman and asks:
Esther 6:6-10 So Haman came in. And the king said unto him, What shall
be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honour? Now Haman
thought in his heart, To whom would the king delight to do honour more
than to myself? (7) And Haman answered the king, For the man whom the
king delighteth to honour, (8) Let the royal apparel be brought which
the king useth to wear, and the horse that the king rideth upon, and
the crown royal which is set upon his head: (9) And let this apparel
and horse be delivered to the hand of one of the king's most noble
princes, that they may array the man withal whom the king delighteth to
honour, and bring him on horseback through the street of the city, and
proclaim before him, Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king
delighteth to honour. (10) Then the king said to Haman, Make haste, and
take the apparel and the horse, as thou hast said, and do even so to
Mordecai the Jew, that sitteth at the king's gate: let nothing fail of
all that thou hast spoken.
Haman sees everything he wanted for HIMSELF is done for Mordecai!
ROLES REVERSE!
Haman is whining about it all with his folks, and they say he’s finished.
- If Mordecai is a Jew, you’re done.
- He is being exalted and you condemned his people.
- He will use that power to crush you.
While he whines, he’s asked to go to the second banquet.
Esther 7:3-6 Then Esther the queen answered and said, If I have found
favour in thy sight, O king, and if it please the king, let my life be
given me at my petition, and my people at my request: (4) For we are
sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish. But
if we had been sold for bondmen and bondwomen, I had held my tongue,
although the enemy could not countervail the king's damage. (5) Then
the king Ahasuerus answered and said unto Esther the queen, Who is he,
and where is he, that durst presume in his heart to do so? (6) And
Esther said, The adversary and enemy is this wicked Haman. Then Haman
was afraid before the king and the queen.
The enemy will become afraid of YOU, the CHURCH, too.
It’s as when Joshua and the people crossed Jordan and the enemy was afraid of ISRAEL!
The king is so angry he leaves the banquets and goes back to the palace garden.
Esther 7:7 And the king arising from the banquet of wine in his wrath
went into the palace garden: and Haman stood up to make request for his
life to Esther the queen; for he saw that there was evil determined
against him by the king.
It’s like God’s mind went back to the GARDEN OF EDEN where the enemy tricked mankind and caused his downfall.
When the King returns:
Esther 7:8 Then the king returned out of the palace garden into the
place of the banquet of wine; and Haman was fallen upon the bed whereon
Esther was. Then said the king, Will he force the queen also before me
in the house? As the word went out of the king's mouth, they covered
Haman's face.
They show the king the gallows Haman made for Mordecai and the king commands him to be hanged there instead.
ROLES SWITCHED
- What Haman wanted for himself to be honoured, it was for Mordecai.
- The gallows meant for Mordecai are for Haman!
Esther 8:1-2 On that day did the king Ahasuerus give the house of Haman
the Jews' enemy unto Esther the queen. And Mordecai came before the
king; for Esther had told what he was unto her. (2) And the king took
off his ring, which he had taken from Haman, and gave it unto Mordecai.
And Esther set Mordecai over the house of Haman.
EVEN Haman’s estate is given to Mordecai!
THE CURSE IS REVERSED!
As in Noah’s situation.
I can see the FLESH represented by HAMAN.
- While the FLESH seeks to be exalted, as all our flesh wants, our spirituality is being assaulted.
- THE FLESH MUST BE EFFECTIVELY CRUCIFIED.
- When we realize we died with Jesus and we fully learn this was
the purpose the three days and nights of the cross and his death, we
come to a THIRD DAY FAITH.
- The Apostles’ words rise to the top!
When Haman is dead the king’s wrath is appeased.
Esther 7:10 So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then was the king's wrath pacified.
It reminds me of this:
Isaiah 53:11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be
satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many;
for he shall bear their iniquities.
When Jesus suffered in our place, God was satisfied.
- Not when you do all these good deeds, but when Jesus died and suffered, God was satisfied with you.
- HIS WORK ON THE CROSS is what He looks for!
- NOT YOUR GOOD WORKS!
