A NEW TARGET OF FAITH -- THE UNSEEN UNIVERSE

Hebrews 11:1  Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.  By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.  For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God. Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised. Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable. These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

2 Corinthians 4:18  While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Faith is something into which we must all come to an understand.

A centurion's servant took sick to the point of dying. His servant was dying. Jesus proceeded to go to the man's house. This centurion believed Jesus could as easily send His servants and friends on a journey of delivering healing as he had sent friends to Jesus. Even Martha in John 11:21 could not consider Jesus healing Lazarus without being there with him.
John 11:21  Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
Jesus said this man's faith was powerful! Faith is something we use everyday and not even realize it. A decision such as wanting to go to the store, becomes an actuality of being in the store! Anything in earth is only experienced as your own when you first inwardly desire it, and then outwardly act upon that desire and obtain it. Its just the same way in the spiritual. When you get surety, you know all about it. You get spiritual substance.

There are christian circles that believe speaking in tongues is of the devil and not for the church today.

Faith in the things of the Kingdom of God is simply changing the target of your faith and applying it to unseen things.

When we were born again, we took the first step in this kind of redirecting of everyday experiences.

Faith is not as impossible to exert as you think. And then you believed in resurrection of a man from the dead. All you must do is the same thing you did when you were first saved. A woman in New Brunswick was widely known to hear from God in tremendous sensitivity to the unheard voice of God. I mentioned this to Brother John Mean (Nova Scotia District Supt.), and he said this was his mother!

Years ago, Brother Mean's brother Horace was in the army, and due to come home any time.

Brother Mean told me the other day he was over to visit someone in the hospital, and along the roadside there were no empty parking spaces by the meters that still were left with time on the meters. Faith is something we use all the time... in the material world! All that the former blind man could say was that he knew that he knew! Direct your faith to the unseen universe, in the same way you did in the everyday life.
