Corinthians 6:1 Dare any of you, having a matter against
another, go to law before the
unjust, and not before the saints?
1 Corinthians 6:2 Do ye not
know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye
unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
1 Corinthians 6:3 Know ye
not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?
1 Corinthians 6:4 If then
ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the
church.
1 Corinthians 6:5 I speak
to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to
judge between his brethren?
1 Corinthians 6:6 But
brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers.
1 Corinthians 6:7 Now
therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not
rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?
1 Corinthians 6:8 Nay, ye
do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.
1 Corinthians 6:9 Know ye not that
the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither
fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves
with mankind,
1 Corinthians 6:10 Nor
thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom
of God.
1 Corinthians 6:11 And such
were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the
Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
1 Corinthians 6:12 All
things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not
be brought under the power of any.
1 Corinthians 6:13 Meats
for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not
for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.
1 Corinthians 6:14 And God
hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.
1 Corinthians 6:15 Know ye
not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make
them the members of an harlot? God forbid.
1 Corinthians 6:16 What?
know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.
1 Corinthians 6:17 But he
that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
1 Corinthians 6:18 Flee
fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication
sinneth against his own body.
1 Corinthians 6:19 What?
know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God,
and ye are not your own?
1 Corinthians 6:20 For ye
are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
Paul told the Ephesians that Jesus was raised from the dead by the Father and set on the throne.
Ephesians
1:15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord
Jesus, and love unto all
the saints,
Ephesians 1:16 Cease not to give
thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
Ephesians 1:17 That the God of
our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and
revelation in the knowledge of him:
Ephesians 1:18 The eyes of your
understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and
what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
Ephesians 1:19 And what is the
exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his
mighty power,
Ephesians 1:20 Which he wrought
in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the
heavenly places,
Ephesians 1:21 Far above all
principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in
this world, but also in that which is to come:
The power that God used to put Christ there, after having been dead and resurrected, is the same power that is for us right now.
It's at our disposal!
And after we read this kind of teaching, we then come to chapter 4:
Ephesians
4:1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are
called,
In other words, WALK in everyday real life what is true of your position.
Life that kind of victorious life.
Too many Christians live lives that contradict the position God put them in.
- It's like getting a
promotion at work where you are an executive over employees and business, but you still act like you
are the least paid employee.
Paul explained that we will actually judge angels one day.
- He said that because
they were supposed to be judging lesser issues back at that time while they were having church.
- This mans that judging
things are meant for today as well as the future when Jesus comes.
- Judge things in THIS
LIFE.
- This life refers to
things we deal with today, and wee are meant to be judges.
Some people made the common mistake of thinking we should not be judging anything.
Matthew
7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.Mat 7:2 For with what
judgment ye judge, ye shall
be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
That is not telling us to never judge anything.
- It's simply telling us
that if we are willing to be judged about something, then and only then can we judge the same
thing in others.
- You will be judged for
what you judge.
- The same measure you
mete forth to people who judge will be meted back to you as well.
- So it is not saying to
not judge anything ever.

Corinthians 5:11 But now I have written unto you not to keep
company, if any man that is
called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a
railer, or a drunkard, or
an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
1 Corinthians 5:12 For
what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?
1 Corinthians 5:13 But
them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.
He just said in the chapter preceding 1 Corinthians 6 that the church judges matters in the church.

Corinthians 6:12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things

things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of
any.
1 Corinthians 6:13
Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not
for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.
Sex, food, lusts, and addictions are all things that have power over people.
- Paul said we do not have
to let these things have that kind of power over us.
- Paul refused to be the
salve of anything except Jesus.
- This is KINGDOM language.
- Paul had power.
- This is things IN THIS
LIFE.
He said that God created meats for our bellies, and because these foods are created for our bellies then our bellies have appetites for them.
- So The belly is created
for meats as well.
- But when we die both the
appetites and our bellies will be gone.
- These things will not be
involved with our new bodies we get at resurrection.
Our bodies are meant for The Lord to live through.
- They're vehicles for His
Spirit.
- But we get defeated and
its our own fault because we actually have power in the
- Kingdom to not let these
things have power over us.
- We have power over them.
- The cross gave us that
power.
While he will destroy the belly and meats, He will still raise up the body itself and it will go on in Kingdom purpose forevermore.
True kingdom life is a life of conquering things that have power over us.
We overcome things so that we live the kind of life that the cross actually gave to us.
Colossians 3:1
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand
of God.
Colossians 3:2 Set
your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Colossians 3:3 For ye
are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Colossians 3:4 When
Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
Colossians 3:5 Mortify
therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil
concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
We are raised with Jesus.
- So we should live lives
that correspond to that.
- Seek the things that
correspond to people who are supposed to be raised above the things of
the world with Jesus.
- We are supposed to be
dead with Jesus.
- So, kill out or mortify
the things in our bodies that are overpowering us and are from the
world.
- Put your affections and
the things you enjoy on the things that are above, and not below on the
earth.
- We;re supposed to be
dead to these things of the earth that dominate us.
Colossians 2:20
Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world,
why, as though living in the
world, are ye subject to ordinances,
Colossians 2:21 (Touch
not; taste not; handle not;
Colossians 2:22 Which
all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?
Colossians 2:23 Which
things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body;
not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.
We're dead to the lower and rude, or base things of the earth.
If we're dead with Christ then let our bodies match up with that deadness.
- You're already dead with
Jesus.
- Now let your bodies
catch up and likewise be dead.
- The way in which our
bodies are dead like we are supposed to be dead is when the things of
the world do not have power over our bodies.
- The more you indulge in
something the more your hunger for it grows.
- So cut it off from your
life.
Romans 8 speaks of mortifying again.
Romans 8:13
For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body,
ye shall live.
Romans 8:14 For as
many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
Romans 8:15 For ye
have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption,
whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
Romansans 6 says we died with Jesus, just like Colossiansossians 2 says the same thing.
- But we have to align our
bodies up with that experience.
- Live physically what is
already true spiritually.
- Your heart is set free
fRomans bondage of sin, now let your body be set free fRomans bondages
of the world.
This is how true sons of God are manifested to the world.
- How can we talk to the
world about freedom fRomans bondage if we're addicted to
- food, sex or anything
else?
- The Spirit leads us to
be able to OVERCOME these things.
- By the Spirit we mortify
these things.
Paul also said that the Corinthians were defrauding one another, and such people cannot inherit the kingdom.

Corinthians 6:8 Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your
brethren.
1 Corinthians 6:9 Know
ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither
fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves
with mankind,
I know believers who treat other believers so badly.
- It's disgusting to The
Lord.
The kingdom is not for these kinds of people.

Corinthians 7:29 But this I say, brethren, the time is short:
it remaineth, that both they
that have wives be as though they had none;
1 Corinthians 7:30 And
they that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and they
that buy, as though they possessed not;
1 Corinthians 7:31 And
they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away.
Do not focus too much on anything in this world.
- Everything in the world
has a dangerous side to it that can cause you to be controlled by it.
- It's like morphine used
in the hospitals for killing the pain of patients.
- It's got a good use.
- But it is highly
addictive and must be handled with extreme carefulness lest it get
out of control.
- Possess things as though
you did not possess them.
- In other words, be able
to let go of anything the world has when you want to.
- Do not be controlled by
it so that you cannot let it go whenever you choose to.
If you lose something in this world, if it has a hold on you it will overwhelm you and captivate your mind.
Luke
17:31 In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his
stuff in the house, let him
not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.
Luke 17:32 Remember Lot's
wife.
Lot's wife looked back at Sodom and Gomorrah when Lot took his family away, after telling them The Lord said to not even look back.
- She looked back because
her heart was connected to something there and she could not let it go.
- So she turned into a
pillar of salt and perished with the cities.
Is there anything in this world that might make you look back if you went to Heaven?
- The Lord will not take
you to heaven if that is the case.
