TAKING ON A SPIRIT'S NATURE

Ecclesiastes 3:18-20 I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the
sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that
they themselves are beasts. (19) For that which befalleth the sons of
men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth,
so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath
no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity. (20) All go unto one
place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.
Man
was compared to beasts in the old covenant before Jesus Christ came.
- And the reason man was compared to beasts was the fate of
RETURNING TO DUST as the beasts do.
- This was never meant to occur with Adam.
- But after he sinned, God said he was dust and would return
to dust in a very condescending manner.
- Some feel Adam was meant to physically die before he sinned,
but why would God speak so condescendingly about returning to dust if
it was his original fate?
- And death came to man by sin (Rom 5:12).
- Death was intended to occur with creatures, though without
anything to do with sin.
- But not man.
So, if returning to dust makes one comparable to a beast, then we see
that the fall of man caused mankind to come into this low estate.
Also, if returning to dust makes us like beasts, then what is it when
the RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST occurs to people who were dead in sins
but can present themselves alive from the dead unto God?
And throughout the Word we see the contrast between beasts and saints
of God.
- From Genesis to Revelation.
After mankind sinned and would return to the dust, he was not only
considered like beasts who likewise return to dust, but look what Jesus
said to sinners.
Matthew 12:34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak
good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
Jesus called these people the "OFFSPRING OF SERPENTS."
It was a serpent who tempted the woman in the GARDEN, and who
spiritually caused her to bring forth sinners -- so, you could call
mankind children of vipers.... all mankind was born in sin after Adam
and Eve.
- We were all offspring of vipers.
- All were beasts.
- All sinners.
- This is not supporting an error called "serpent seed"
teaching which teaches SOME people cannot be saved due to being literal
offspring of a relationship between Eve and the serpent.
- There was no physical relationship with Eve and the serpent.
- Spiritually, though, there is a concept to be had where
sinners are called children of the serpent.
In Daniel, we read of BEASTS and images and events that parallel the
Book of Revelation in more ways than we may have realized before.
- All instances show one common theme... taking on a spirit's
nature.
Daniel 2 shows a dream of Nebuchadnezzar.
Daniel recounted the dream when Nebuchadnezzar forgot the details, and
then interpreted it.
Daniel 2:31-33 Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This
great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the
form thereof was terrible. (32) This image's head was of fine gold, his
breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass, (33)
His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.
Four sections were noted:
Daniel 2:37-38 KJV Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God
of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and
glory. (38) And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the
beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into
thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head
of gold.
He went on to say that the remaining three sections were other kings
inferior to Babylon that would come up after Babylon.
- We know them to be Medo-Persia (who conquered Babylon in
Daniel 5),
- Greece,
- And Rome.
Some say there is a fifth kingdom after Rome in the feet described
as iron and clay mixed.
- But we only read of four kingdoms and the fourth was
divided, not a fifth actual kingdom.
Daniel 2:40-41 KJV And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as
iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and
as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and
bruise. (41) And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes,
part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided;
but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou
sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.
Notice the terms carefully.
- There is no mention of a fifth kingdom, just a fourth one
that is divided.
- That is significant.
FIRST KINGDOM
Daniel 2:37 KJV Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of
heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.
SECOND/THIRD KINGDOMS
Daniel 2:39 KJV And after thee shall arise another kingdom
inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear
rule over all the earth.
FOURTH KINGDOM
Daniel 2:40 KJV And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron:
forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as
iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.
FOURTH KINGDOM DIVIDED (NO FIFTH
KINGDOM)
Daniel 2:41 KJV And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part
of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but
there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou
sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.
Daniel 2:42 KJV And as the toes of the feet were part of iron,
and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly
broken.
Daniel told the king:
Daniel 2:34 KJV Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without
hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay,
and brake them to pieces.
Daniel 2:44 KJV And in the days of these kings shall the God of
heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the
kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces
and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
We know that this KINGDOM OF GOD came in the days of Jesus Christ.
Matthew 4:17 KJV From that time Jesus began to preach, and to
say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Luke 11:20 KJV But if I with the finger of God cast out devils,
no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.
Hebrews 12:28 KJV Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot
be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with
reverence and godly fear:
John 3:5 KJV Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee,
Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into
the kingdom of God.
IT IS NOW.
But despite this vision, it seems Nebuchadnezzar was so full of himself
and his kingdom that he took the information from that dream and built
a golden image of himself as he saw in the dream.
- This is found in the very next chapter of Daniel.
- Chapter 3.
Daniel 3:1 KJV Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold,
whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits:
he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.
Daniel 3:5 KJV That at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet,
flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye
fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king
hath set up:
We will find this repeated in Revelation 13 where an image of the beast
was to be praised.
Notice the link to a BEAST with this image of Nebuchadnezzar.
- BEASTS are connected with every person who seeks self glory.
- And self glory goes back to the serpent's temptation to be
like gods.
- This is diametrically opposed to the will of God for HIS
KINGDOM.
- Getting into KINGDOM concepts really digs into our lives.
- How many people would really WANT God's Kingdom?
- They cannot have their own!
Revelation 13:14-15 KJV (14) And deceiveth them that dwell
on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in
the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that
they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword,
and did live. (15) And he had power to give life unto the
image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and
cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should
be killed.
And though this IMAGE OF A MAN was brought down by the rock in the
dream, this man refused the prophecy and demanded worship to himself as
the head of gold anyway.
But then we read the next chapter.
- Daniel chapters 2 through 4 are incredibly significant in
regards to the events that transpire chronologically.
Daniel 4:20-26 The tree that thou sawest, which grew, and was strong,
whose height reached unto the heaven, and the sight thereof to all the
earth; (21) Whose leaves were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in
it was meat for all; under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and
upon whose branches the fowls of the heaven had their habitation: (22)
It is thou, O king, that art grown and become strong: for thy greatness
is grown, and reacheth unto heaven, and thy dominion to the end of the
earth. (23) And whereas the king saw a watcher and an holy one coming
down from heaven, and saying, Hew the tree down, and destroy it; yet
leave the stump of the roots thereof in the earth, even with a band of
iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet
with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the
field, till seven times pass over him; (24) This is the interpretation,
O king, and this is the decree of the most High, which is come upon my
lord the king: (25) That they shall drive thee from men, and thy
dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make
thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the dew of
heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the
most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he
will. (26) And whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the tree
roots; thy kingdom shall be sure unto thee, after that thou shalt have
known that the heavens do rule.
This time the king is like a TREE.
- Here he is given a space to repent and a second chance, and
refuses.
So, this tree is foretold to be cut down.
And this reminds us of another tree.
Notice the terminology:
Daniel 4:10-12 KJV Thus were the visions of mine head in my bed;
I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height
thereof was great. (11) The tree grew, and was strong, and
the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the
end of all the earth: (12) The leaves thereof were fair,
and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all: the beasts of
the field had shadow under it, and the fowls of the heaven dwelt in the
boughs thereof, and all flesh was fed of it.
Center of the earth.
ALL FLESH WAS FED OF IT.
The tree of the knowledge of good and evil!
Genesis 2:9 KJV And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow
every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree
of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of
good and evil.
"In the midst of the Garden..."
Genesis 2:17 KJV But of the tree of the knowledge of good and
evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof
thou shalt surely die.
This idea is even more emphasized here:
Ezekiel 31:3 KJV Behold, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon with
fair branches, and with a shadowing shroud, and of an high stature; and
his top was among the thick boughs.
Ezekiel 31:8 KJV The cedars in the garden of God could not hide
him: the fir trees were not like his boughs, and the chesnut trees were
not like his branches; nor any tree in the garden of God was like unto
him in his beauty.
Though speaking to Egypt, note the reference to the ASSYRIAN, which
would correspond to Babylon.
Back to Daniel.
And we read this KING changed and behaved like beasts.
Dan 4:(27) Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto
thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by
shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy
tranquillity.
Daniel appealed to him to repent and humble himself.
He acted like BEASTS.
Daniel 4:32-33 KJV And they shall drive thee from men, and thy
dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to
eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou
know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to
whomsoever he will. (33) The same hour was the thing
fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat
grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his
hairs were grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws.
"THEY" -- demon spirits -- affected Nebuchadnezzar to act like a BEAST.
We take on the nature of the spirit that affects us.
And then we read the same four kingdoms of Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece
and Rome, noted in Daniel 2 as sections of an idol of a man, are seen
as FOUR BEASTS in Daniel 7.
Daniel 7:3-7 KJV And four great beasts came up from the sea,
diverse one from another. (4) The first was like a lion,
and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked,
and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a
man, and a man's heart was given to it. (5) And behold
another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one
side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it:
and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh. (6)
After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the
back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and
dominion was given to it. (7) After this I saw in the night
visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong
exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in
pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse
from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.
LION, BEAR, LEOPARD and TERRIBLE BEAST.
So MAN'S KINGDOMS are likened unto BEASTS.
- This is a strong connection to the entire concept of man
being like beasts due to the influence of the devil far back in the
Garden.
The bible calls people who despise dominions as BRUTE BEASTS.
Jude 1:8-10 KJV Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the
flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities. (9)
Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed
about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing
accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. (10) But these
speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know
naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
Michael would not even pop attitude at the devil, but simply laid out
the facts without contempt saying, "The Lord rebuke thee."
- And these people whom Jude and Peter call beasts, despise
godly authority.
- Because flesh wants to worship itself.
- That means any God or man who tells them to not do certain
things are despised.
- The serpent told Eve they would be like gods.
Sinners do to GOD what Michael would not even do to the devil!
- How wicked can such sinners be?
Romans 1 speaks of people who know God is God but refuse to honour Him
as God and satiate their lusts that they know are wrong, and have
pleasure in anyone else who likewise fulfills their lusts.
And they change the glory of God to that OF BEASTS!
And it is all going reverting back to the same principle where the
DEVIL GAVE THE SERPENT HIS POWER AND HIS WORDS TO TEMPT EVE WITH.
We attach to whatever TWO SPIRITS that influence us AND BECOME LIKE
THEM.
And when Daniel 7 speaks of beast kingdoms, we read of the victory of
the STONE THAT SHOT DOWN THE IDOL in Daniel 2.
- Recall the STONE and ROCK IS JESUS.
- And as Daniel 7 shows the four kingdoms of Daniel 2 as
beasts, Daniel 7 shows the victory of the stone crushing the kingdoms
as follows:
Daniel 7:13-14 KJV I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one
like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the
Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. (14)
And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all
people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an
everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that
which shall not be destroyed.
Notice the saints of God are connected to this picture.
Daniel 7:17-18 KJV These great beasts, which are four, are four
kings, which shall arise out of the earth. (18) But the
saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom
for ever, even for ever and ever.
Since JESUS is shown to take the power and dominion, the SAINTS
ATTACHED TO HIM IN UNITY are said to receive power and the KINGDOM.
Just like here:
Revelation 5:6-10 KJV And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the
throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a
Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are
the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. (7)
And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat
upon the throne. (8) And when he had taken the book, the
four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb,
having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which
are the prayers of saints. (9) And they sung a new song,
saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals
thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood
out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
(10) And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we
shall reign on the earth.
When Jesus the lamb takes the book, the SAINTS are said to be kings and
priests who will rule on earth.
His victory becomes OUR OWN.
- We take on the nature of the Spirit that affects us.
But the devil's nature also becomes the sinners' natures..,
Revelation 12:3 KJV And there appeared another wonder in heaven;
and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and
seven crowns upon his heads.
As the dragon has seven heads and ten horns, we read the same is seen
in the beast!
Revelation 13:1 KJV And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw
a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and
upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
Notice that the John only sees one beast come from the sea whereas
Daniel saw four in Daniel 7.
- This is because John's day was after the first three had
come and gone and the fourth, ROME, was in power.
- And the DRAGON GIVES his traits to the beast.
- We take on the nature of the spirit that affects us.
And notice that the FOURTH BEAST has all the SAME SPIRITS that the
first three had, combined into one.
Revelation 13:2 KJV And the beast which I saw was like unto a
leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the
mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and
great authority.
The Lion, Bear and Leopard, which were the spirits or natures of
Babylon, Medo-Persia and Greece, are seen in this fourth beast, Rome.
The devil GAVE THIS BEAST the devil's own power and the devil's seat
and the devil's authority.
Seven heads and ten horns - 7 + 10 = 17.
Galatians 5:19-21 KJV Now the works of the flesh are manifest,
which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness,
lasciviousness, (20) Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred,
variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
(21) Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like:
of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past,
that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
17 WORKS OF THE FLESH are listed above in Gal 5.
- We take on the nature of the spirit affecting us.
Recall that the devil tried to give Jesus the kingdoms of earth.
Matthew 4:8-9 KJV Again, the devil taketh him up into an
exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world,
and the glory of them; (9) And saith unto him, All these
things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
But Jesus refused.
It seems to fit that the following verse is emblematic of the devil
doing this with Jesus.
Revelation 12:4 KJV ...and the dragon stood before the woman
which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it
was born.
Jesus got the KINGDOMS ANYWAY, by His resurrection.
Revelation 12:5 KJV And she brought forth a man child, who was to
rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto
God, and to his throne.
Instead of getting the kingdoms from the devil, being absorbed,
swallowed, up of the devil's nature, the Lord Jesus resisted and was
caught up to the throne in heaven.
- This throne in Heaven distinctly indicates his dominion over
the earth.
Ephesians 1:20-22 KJV Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised
him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly
places, (21) Far above all principality, and power, and
might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this
world, but also in that which is to come: (22) And hath put
all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things
to the church,
He was caught up to God and his throne where he became ruler over all
the kingdoms of the world, after the devil tried to give him those
kingdoms by swallowing Him up and absorbing Him to receive all satan's
attributes.
Revelation 11:15 KJV And the seventh angel sounded; and there
were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are
become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign
for ever and ever.
So instead, the devil took the KINGDOM OF ROME and CAESAR and absorbed
them, and ROME is that fourth beast of Daniel 7.
The woman in Rev 12 was Israel and Jerusalem, the former bride of God
(Ezekiel 16).
- Jesus was born there.
- He came forth from Israel.
- And out of her came the church and the people of God, so
that AFTER THE CROSS the BRIDE IS NOW THE CHURCH.
- "NEW" JERUSALEM.
- Spiritual Israel.
- And the old became the WHORE.
- ANOTHER WOMAN.
The SPIRITS of the LION and the BEAR that David fought and killed went
into GOLIATH.
- David already slew a lion and a bear, and slew the same
spirits again combined in Goliath.
- Goliath was a combination of the TWO SPIRITS of the lion and
bear.
- Some feel the spirits left Goliath and entered Saul who
tried to slay David.
Jesus Christ is SON OF DAVID, and JESUS TOOK THE LION, BEAR spirits
with the additional LEOPARD SPIRIT, that were once Babylon, Medo-Persia
and Greece, that were combined in ROME, and STRUCK THEM ALL DOWN WITH A
STONE as well!
- Just like DAVID.
- A STONE that Daniel saw CUT OUT OF THE MOUNTAINS WITHOUT
HANDS TOOK DOWN THE LION AND BEAR AND LEOPARD SPIRITS IN the GOLIATH
KINGDOM called ROME, the fourth beast.
Revelation 13:5 KJV And there was given unto him a mouth speaking
great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue
forty and two months.
The dragon gave the beast his ability to speak blasphemies.
- Like the spirit that moved Nebuchadnezzar to boast of his
greatness.
- A spirit that refuses to give God glory.
Jesus saw satan fall like lightning to earth.
- The same fate falls to those who take on the evil spirit's
nature and fall to dust in the earth.
MANKIND CONNECTS TO AND TAKES ON THE TRAITS OF THE SPIRIT that affects
him.
For that reason:
Genesis 3:15 KJV And I will put enmity between thee and the
woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and
thou shalt bruise his heel.
We know this was fulfilled by Jesus on the cross.
But we also read a mystery:
Romans 16:19-20 KJV For your obedience is come abroad unto all
men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise
unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil. (NOTICE THE
REFERENCES TO GOOD AND EVIL AS IN THE FORBIDDEN TREE - reminds us of
the Garden and something else from the Garden is mentioned
next...) (20) And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under
your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
We are attached to Jesus, and TAKE ON HIS TRAITS OF DEVIL CRUSHING
victory.
- SATAN WAS CRUSHED at the cross by Jesus.
- Rome is crushed in AD70 by the Christ-united CHURCH shortly
after Romans was written.
We take the victory we have in Christ due to our union to Him and wield
it against even those who are in union to the devil and have his traits!
The devil gives HIS power to the BEAST in Rev 13, but The Father gave
the LAMB / ANCIENT OF DAYS power in Dan 7 and Rev 5 when the LAMB TOOK
THE BOOK.
- And that same power is said to be the power of the SAINTS
who TAKE away the KINGDOM OF THE FOURTH BEAST in Daniel 7.
Jesus crushed the serpent's head as David's stone struck Goliath in the
head.
Summary:
Daniel 2 is the dream of the four kingdoms with Nebuchadnezzar as the
head of gold.
Daniel 3 shows Nebuchadnezzar building an image of gold after his
likeness, rejecting Daniel's warning.
Daniel 4 shows Nebuchadnezzar as a tree, similar to the tree of the
knowledge of good and evil which caused man to become children of the
enemy, where also Nebuchadnezzar became like a beast.
And between DANIEL 4, where Neb is a tree cut down and becomes like
BEAST, and Daniel 7, where THE FOUR BEASTS are destroyed, we read:
Daniel 5 - writing on the wall for Babylon
And this wonderful note in Daniel 6 - LION'S DEN WITH DEN so much like
tomb of Jesus, from which Daniel sort of RESURRECTS in victory.
Daniel 6:17 KJV And a stone was brought, and laid upon the mouth
of the den; and the king sealed it with his own signet, and with the
signet of his lords; that the purpose might not be changed concerning
Daniel.
Matthew 27:66 KJV So they went, and made the sepulchre sure,
sealing the stone, and setting a watch.
THE LION is Babylon, the first beast for the four in Daniel 7.
- Daniel comes out of a den of LIONS, similar to the tomb of
Jesus Christ.
Daniel's escape from the lion's den shows a sort of RESURRECTION
VICTORY OVER THE LION BABYLON!
When the Jews of Jerusalem rejected Him the day he rode in on the foal
of an ass, Jesus spoke of the STONE that would FALL ON THEM.
Matthew 21:42-44 KJV Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in
the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is
become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is
marvellous in our eyes? (43) Therefore say I unto you, The
kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing
forth the fruits thereof. (44) And whosoever shall fall on
this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will
grind him to powder.
If you fail to accept Him as your FOUNDATION and KING, YOU WILL FALL ON
THE STONE AND THE STONE WILL FALL ON YOU.
- "the place of stoning was two men's heights; one of the
witnesses struck him on his loins, to throw him down from thence, to
the ground: if he died, it was well; if not, they took a stone, which
lay there, and was as much as two men could carry, and cast it, with
all their might, upon his breast: if he died, it was well; if not, he
was stoned by all Israel.
- Maimonides observes (f), that "stoning, or throwing down
from the high place, was that he might fall upon the stone, or that the
stone might fall upon him; and which of them either it was, the pain
was the same.
- (JOHN GILL COMMENTARY - Matthew 21:44)
We mistaken the first part (falling on rock) to be a good thing.
- Jesus meant both parts as judgment.
Isaiah 8:14-15 KJV And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a
stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of
Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of
Jerusalem. (15) And many among them shall stumble, and
fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.
FALLING ON THE ROCK is due to STUMBLING because he is an offence to you.
Revelation 5:2 KJV And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a
loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals
thereof?
The LAMB WAS WORTHY.
Revelation 5:9 KJV And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art
worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast
slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred,
and tongue, and people, and nation;
THE LAMB WORTHY TO RECEIVE THE BOOK IS ALSO SAID TO BE WORTHY TO TAKE...
Revelation 5:12 KJV Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb
that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength,
and honour, and glory, and blessing.
7 THINGS!!!!!
Revelation 5:6 KJV And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the
throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a
Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are
the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
This lamb had seven horns and seven eyes which are seven spirits of God.
Isaiah 11:1-2 KJV And there shall come forth a rod out of the
stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
(2) And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of
wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit
of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
7 SPIRITS OF GOD.
You TAKE ON THE NATURE OF THE SPIRIT AFFECTING YOU.
It is HIS KINGDOM!
- Flesh wants ITS OWN KINGDOM.
- God is going to cut down the kingdom of flesh!
We take on the nature of the Spirit affecting us.
- We took on Christ's death, burial and resurrection.
- We took on his power and Name!
- His seating in heavenly places above all powers.
- The beast took the dragon's mouth and seat and authority.
- We took on Christ's words, Seating in heavenly places and
power!
- We take on the nature of the Spirit affecting us.
