Matthew 6:9-12  After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.  (10)  Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.  (11)   Give us this day our daily bread.  (12)  And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

Matthew 6:33  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Jesus spoke of our Father in Heaven.
·    The Heavenly Father.
·    We dwell here in earth.
·    He wants His Kingdom in Heaven to come to Earth.
·    His will in heaven to be done in Earth.

When His Kingdom comes down here, His will also is being done down here.
·    We speak of entering the Kingdom.
·    This refers to entering now into what has come.
·    Those who enter the arrived Kingdom are those who do the Father’s Will.

Matthew 7:21  Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

This verse takes the Kingdom of Matt 6:10 and God’s will in 6:10 and combines them, showing we enter into that arrived Kingdom by doing the Father’s will.

Jesus actually taught that only those who do things as God would do them are in His Kingdom.

Genesis 1:26  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

God said He’d make man in His own image.
·    Then, after that, He would give man dominion.
·    We can apply this spiritually.
·    Being in God’s image is doing things the way God does them.
·    Then you are in His Kingdom in Earth.
·    It’s the Kingdom OF Heaven, but it’s IN Earth.
·    We are in His image when we do things His way.
If we treat people the way God does, we’re in His image!
If we’re in His image, He puts us in His Kingdom.

Notice the sequence of events:

Genesis 2:7  And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Genesis 2:8  And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

Man is formed first into His image and then man is put into the Garden.

Like Exodus.
·    Form Israel in the wilderness and then put them in the Promised Land to rule.
·    But never made Canaan, and failed in the forming.

1 Corinthians 10:1-6  Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;  (2)  And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;  (3)  And did all eat the same spiritual meat;  (4)  And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.  (5)  But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.  (6)  Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

Many were overthrown in the wilderness.

So, God is working on us – forming us to make us treat people the way He would.

Matthew 18:1-5  At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?  (2)  And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,  (3)  And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.  (4)  Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.  (5)  And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.

Enter the Kingdom.
·    “Become” as a little child.
·    Humble yourself.
·    THEN YOU ARE JUST LIKE JESUS… those who receive such a child in Jesus’ name receives Jesus.

John 14:10  Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

The Father was in the Body of Jesus.
·    He spoke what the Father spoke.

John 5:19  Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

John 5:30  I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

This is our mandate!

Earth Must Mirror Heaven.

After Jesus said we must enter the Kingdom when we humble ourselves and represent Jesus in our lifestyles, He tells us of a certain order of handling a brother who refused to repent of sin.

Matthew 18:15-20  Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.  (16)  But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.  (17)  And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.  (18)  Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.  (19)  Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.  (20)  For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

When we follow that order, our decision is, as it were, Jesus; decision.

Notice this is a two-way street.

If our decision is becomes His, then Heaven mirrors Earth.

The Lord’s Prayer said that the Father’s will is to be done in Earth as it is In Heaven.
·    Earth must mirror Heaven.
·    But Matt. 18:18 says our actions in Earth will be mirrored by God in Heaven.
·    Earth must mirror Heaven.
·    But Heaven also mirrors Earth.

It revolves around forgiveness.

Matthew 6:12  And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

Matthew 6:14  For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

Matthew 18:23  Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.

Then we move into an example of how we must forgive.

Note that the words of the servant in verse 26 are identical to the words his fellowservant speaks to him.

Matthew 18:24-33  And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.  (25)  But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.  (26)  The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.  (27)  Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.  (28)  But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.  (29)  And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.  (30)  And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.  (31)  So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.  (32)  Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:  (33)  Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?

The lesson is that we should mirror heaven in the way we treat others with forgiveness as God forgave us.
·    The Lord’s prayer repeated this.
·    Mirror God’s treatment of you!

But when the servant refused to mirror Heaven, and did not forgive the fellowservant, Heaven Mirrored Earth in the negative manner, and God revoked His forgiveness for the servant.

This verse:

Matthew 18:30  And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.

Is mirrored here:

Matthew 18:34  And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.

Heaven mirrors earth.

Matthew 18:35  So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

Heaven mirrors Earth when we follow Jesus’ order, and it binds in Heaven whatever we bind in earth.

If we bind a man in prison of unforgiveness, God binds us in the same prison.
·    If we loose a man by forgiveness, God looses us!
·    And we should loosen others because God looses us.

Matthew 18:27  Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.

Whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in Heaven.

Loosing is forgiving.
·    It is technically not  requiring was is legally owing.
·    Binding is holding someone to what is owing.

We must treat people as God treats people – as He treats us.
·    Positively.
·    Or He’ll treat us as we treat others NEGATIVELY.

When Earth Mirrors Heaven and Heaven Mirrors Earth.

Only people who treat others the way God does are IN THE KINGDOM.

The Kingdom OF Heaven IN Earth.

When we mirror God in Earth, He gives us authority and He mirrors our decisions.
